Don’t worry, Ram fans—the company hears you loud and clear. Not only has the company already revived the iconic Hemi V-8 in the 1500, but now it’s finally bringing a high-performance, diesel-powered off-road truck to market. Meet the 2027 Ram Power Wagon.
The new Power Wagon is powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output turbo diesel producing 430 horsepower and a massive 1,075 pound-feet of torque. Combined with a 31-gallon fuel tank, the truck offers an estimated driving range of up to 600 miles.
Still An Off-Road Beast

Yes, the big news is that this is the first time Ram has paired a high-output diesel engine with the modern Power Wagon. But despite the added muscle, this truck is still a monster on the trail. Standard equipment includes front and rear electronic locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar, Bilstein shocks, and lots of underbody protection.
Ram’s five-link coil rear suspension carries over, naturally, which gives the rugged truck just over 13.0 inches of ground clearance. The truck also has impressive off-road angles, with a 26.1-degree approach, a 20.6-degree breakover, and a 26.0-degree departure. Mopar rock rails come standard, too, which help protect the body when trails get too tight.
The Power Wagon also gets several towing-oriented upgrades. A new 3.42 rear axle ratio works alongside the TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission, better managing the diesel’s increased torque while improving towing performance. Ram offers fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing prep for the first time, alongside an available automatic-leveling rear air suspension.
Visually, the truck looks the part with 34-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 20-inch Satin Black wheels. The exterior looks as tough as ever with a sport performance hood, Power Wagon bed decals, and subtle satin black Cummins badging on the fenders.
Inside, the diesel Power Wagon matches the upscale feel of Ram’s Heavy Duty lineup. Buyers can choose between cloth seating or heated and ventilated leather bucket seats. Available tech includes a massive 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a front passenger display, and premium Alpine or Harman Kardon audio systems.
Standard safety and driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and surround-view camera systems tailored for towing and off-road use.
