Sticking to its promise of bringing up more V8 Cars, Mercedes-Benz has teased the new AMG GT Track Sports that packs an eight-cylinder engine under its hood. It’s now a concept version but a production version will likely be available sometime ahead.
GT Track Sport is being developed to “set a new standard and record laps.” We can only take it that the Automaker will be planning to set up a new lap time at the Nürburgring soon.
The performance details remained undisclosed, but the Mercedes AMG GT Track Sport is targeting competitors like the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Performance is essential; this new GT Track Sport removes the 2+2 layout, and it’s likely to come with a two-seat layout configuration. The entire car remained camouflaged, but a large front splitter and aggressive Z-type rear wings will be part of the performance upgrades.
Spotted on the teaser images is a spare wheel that sits next to the camouflaged GT Track Sport prototype, and it appears to be a meaty Michelin street tire that supports our idea of the car getting a license to be used on public roads.
For the output, nothing was released that would highlight what the GT Track Sport powertrain specification is; it sticks to its V8 engine. The GT63 trims and the GT55 each came with a twin turbo 4.0-liter V8 that’s currently running on the AMG lineup, producing between 469 horsepower and 603 horsepower, may have some chances to be futured on the new AMG GT Track Sport, also in the hybrid version GT63 SE, the combined performance output rose to 805 horsepower.

The production of the Mercedes AMG GT Track Sport hasn’t been confirmed, and it remains as a “concept” and the teaser offers a “glimpse into the future of the AMG GT family”. We fully believe a production model will be out soon to conquer the streets.
